BEDEX 2026: Where our human performance platform meets defence

While talking to the Belgian Minister of Defence, one thing became clear: human performance is no longer optional.

Work-Out participated in BEDEX, the Brussels European Defence Exhibition & Conference. Over the course of three days, the event brought together professionals from defence, international industry and innovation. All focused on one shared objective: strengthening the future of defence.

For Work-Out, this was a highly meaningful experience. It was an opportunity to present our vision and support readiness and wellbeing, while engaging directly with those responsible for daily operations.

Meaningful conversations

A key moment during BEDEX was the opportunity to present our vision alongside the Belgian Minister of Defence, Theo Francken. Not as visitors, but as an active part of the conversation on how defence is evolving and how we can contribute to that.

At our booth and throughout the event, we had direct conversations with professionals working in the field every day. These were not abstract discussions, but practical exchanges about real challenges: preparing soldiers, managing load, preventing injuries and ensuring long-term readiness. It gave us the opportunity to show how the Work-Out Human Performance Platform supports soldiers across all phases of their journey, from preparation to deployment and recovery.

More than technology

Within defence, innovation is often associated with technology and equipment. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that human performance plays an equally critical role.

The Work-Out Human Performance Platform is built around that idea. By bringing together physical training, nutrition, psychological resilience, medical support and expert guidance into one structured environment. With this structure, we create real progress for every soldier.

During BEDEX, we had the opportunity to demonstrate how this approach translates into real-world impact. At our booth, we engaged in meaningful conversations with various units and professionals on how an integrated system can support all personnel and reserves in:

A shared focus on progress

One of the key takeaways from BEDEX is the growing recognition of human performance as a fundamental pillar within defence. For Work-Out, this reinforces what we stand for: helping people become and stay ready, resilient and fit for purpose. Whether that is for a mission or daily life. Our Human Performance Platform is the tool that supports that process.

Looking back

We look back on three intense days filled with conversations that showed a clear shift in mindset. Across different organisations and roles, there is a growing awareness that readiness starts with people. That is what we take with us from BEDEX: a shared belief that investing in human performance is essential for the future of defence.

We would like to thank everyone who visited our booth and the BEDEX-organisation for bringing together such a high level of expertise in one place.
